Huanan Duan (Max) is currently a professor in the School of Materials Science and Engineering, Shanghai Jiao Tong University. Before joining SJTU in 2013, he studied in the United States for 7 and a half years, including doctoral studies at WPI and postdoctoral studies at Cornell University. As a materials scientist, his research interests mainly include the synthesis, processing, and application of functional materials for energy storage. He is currently working on the research and development of solid-state electrolyte materials for applications in lithium batteries and beyond. In his spare time, he enjoys swimming and playing badminton.
